Experienced Fire Protection Designer

The applicant selected will plan and lay out fire sprinkler systems using architectural drawings to develop fire sprinkler drawings and calculations. Responsibilities include producing accurate and effective construction plans for the purpose of generating material deliveries and field installation. Upon completion of drawings and receipt of all required approvals, designers prepare an accurate stock listing of all materials required for the project.
Requirements: the ideal applicant should have completed a two to four-year college or university degree/certificate program; or have two to four years of related experience and/or training; or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. NICET level II is a plus. This applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable source of transportation. Travel will be necessary throughout all the New England States.
Apprentice Fire Protection Designer

This applicant will assist the experienced designers with the plan and lay out of fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD or other computer aided drafting systems. Willing to enroll and obtain NICET certification. Responsibilities include laying out sprinkler heads, assisting with pulling permits, compiling submittals and other necessary paperwork.
Requirements: the ideal applicant should have 1-2 years experience using AutoCAD or similar. Must work well with others and have a desire to learn the trade. This applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable source of transportation. Travel will be necessary throughout all the New England States.
Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter

This applicant assists the licensed sprinkler fitters on the job site with handling pipe, fittings, valves, and other material. Must have a strong willingness to learn about the design and installation of different fire sprinkler systems. Will be required to enroll in the AFSA fire sprinkler apprentice program and work towards obtaining a Journeyman’s license.
Requirements: this applicant must be 18 years of age or older and hold a valid driver’s license along with reliable transportation to work every day. Must be willing to travel to any location within New England or work any shift at the request of the company. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs continuously for a full work day.
Licensed Sprinkler Fitter

Modify and/or install sprinkler systems per fire protection drawings from engineering team. Involves handling pipe, fittings, valves, and other material. Must be a team player and have a strong work ethic.
Requirements: this applicant must hold a Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Journeyman’s license and have at least five years experience installing various types of fire sprinkler systems. Rhode Island and Connecticut sprinkler licenses are highly desirable. Experience preferred with installing fire pumps, dry systems, CVPC systems, ability to read blueprints and have a working knowledge of all other components of a fire sprinkler system. Willingness to take orders and work with others. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to travel to any location within New England or work any shift at the request of the company.
Estimator

The applicant selected will be responsible for estimating, selling, and managing fire sprinkler systems and services. Responsibilities include creating accurate estimates and proposals, representing the company as dependable and competent at pre-construction meetings. In addition, the applicant will implement change orders as required as well as other essential duties and responsibilities.
Requirements: the ideal applicant will either hold a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or have five year’s related experience and/or training within the fire protection industry, or an equivalent combination of both. In addition, the applicant must have extensive knowledge of the most up-to-date NFPA codes and standards, a comprehensive background in all areas of the fire protection industry’s technological advances, as well as the ability to accurately blueprints and project specifications. Applicant must be a self-motivator with strong verbal and written communication skills, possess strong computer skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and be a “team player.”
Office Administrator

This applicant maintains the day to day office services by organizing office operations and procedures, preparing payroll, controlling correspondences, designing filing systems, reviewing and approving invoices, completing the company’s monthly billing, and maintaining all aspects of human resources for the company. The ideal candidate will define procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records and information. Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement. Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports, summarizing information, and identifying trends.
Requirements: the ideal applicant should have a minimum of 2 years experience working with QuickBooks and hold a degree in Business Management, Accounting, Human Resources, or other related field. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and similar programs are required. Must have previous experience processing payroll, processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, and completing multiple human resource functions, preferably in a construction atmosphere. Must be reliable and dependable and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
